Semiotics

From my understanding from the last class session about semiotics is that the concept is way of understanding signs so that by using simple designs people will know what the sign is trying to convey to them. Examples of signs and their usage are road signs like warning and etc. allowing the reciever to know to take precaustions in order to lesson their risk of getting into an accident.

  1. It goes way beyond just road-signs. Any time that you are trying to communicate something in a visual image you make use of semiotics. When you draw something that is a sign for a meaning you need to know how people will interpret it.
Graphical images are just quicker and easier for people to read these messages that we are trying to communicate.
